Kevin Iega Jeff a native New Yorker, is the Artistic Director of Deeply Rooted Productions in Chicago/NY. He served as the Artistic Director of the Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theater and in 1982, Iega founded internationally acclaimed JUBILATION! Dance Company. Iega’s choreography is part of the repertoire of companies such as the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Ensemble, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. He was the recipient of the award for Best Choreographer from the 1996 Black Theatre Alliance Committee for Church of Nations. In addition, Iega has received choreographic fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and has most recently been awarded a grant from the Lila Wallace Reader’s Digest Foundation. Iega teaches and performs at festivals and universities worldwide having attended the High School of Performing Arts in NYC and Julliard.
