Due to these times of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Wylliams/Henry had to regretfully postpone our Fall 2020 concert as well as having had to cancel our Spring 2020 concert, our participation in the Spring To Dance 2020 Festival in St. Louis and other performances in the Midwest. All of us at Wylliams/Henry share your concern about the unsettling events happening in our community and around the world. To those personally affected by the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we will stay close to you in spirit. It is a challenging time and none of us can predict what is around the corner. But we do have something for our audiences to look forward to!

As we begin our 29th year, it will be an honor and privilege to present an exciting alternate dance experience for our audiences. Starting September 1st, Wylliams/Henry will begin the season with our participation in the 6th annual New Dance Partners, presented by the Carlsen Center of Performing Arts at Johnson County Community College, a beloved Kansas City staple in the arts community. Our dancers will learn a premiere work by critically-appraised LA choreographer Micaela Taylor, recently featured on the cover of Dance Magazine in June. Through two weeks of virtual rehearsals, our dancers will learn this work followed by a one-day film recording of the performance on stage in Yardley Hall at JCCC. This film will be edited and shown as Pay for View in November (dates and information to follow). September 18 & 19, 2020 The Carlsen Center is live streaming a free virtual concert of four works from former NDP concerts free to Kansas City audiences. New Dance Partner will present Wylliams/Henry alongside the presentations by the Kansas City Ballet, Owen/Cox Dance Company and the Sterling Dance Company. Please stay tuned for details on this unique performance and future performance in the works.

We just completed our our 2nd PreProfessional/Professional Dance Workshop, which happened on August 14th-16th, 2020, following all recommended health precautions and proper sanitation methods. It was a great success and we plan to continue these pre-professional workshops through out the year with the next one scheduled for January 2021. Details to follow.

Depending on how this health crisis plays out, we are looking into doing an out door concert when we can do it safely and with the quality WHCDC is known for in the near future. We will send out information and dates when we know more details.

We are still planning to present our May 12 & 22, 2021 concert at White Recital Hall at the Performing Arts Center at UMKC at 7:30 PM and we have our fingers crossed.

To all of you, please stay safe and we look forward to doing what we do best beautiful, thought provoking dance to Kansas City audiences.
