This season is an historic milestone for the dance company as we begin our 20th year of presenting beautiful, athletic and thought-provoking dance. Drawing on our rich repertoire and presenting exciting works by renowned choreographers, WHCDC will showcase the “best of the best” from signature works that have defined the company to new company premieres which will delight you. Starting as the “little engine that could,” we began on a wing and a prayer but with a vision and a belief we now present the best of American contemporary dance in Kansas City. I know Leni Wylliams is looking down from “the heaven seats,” as Leni would say, with pride of where the company is today and where it will go in the future. I thank all of the dancers and all of the choreographers that have given their hearts and their talents to the company, with a special thanks to the Kansas City audiences for their support over the past 20 years. You have allowed WHCDC to reach the vision that Leni Wylliams and I had so many years ago and we will continue to strive to present the finest contemporary dance in Kansas City well into the future.
