Ricky Davis was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri- Kansas City. He has attended summer courses at Atlanta Ballet, and North Carolina Dance Theatre. After a semester at Marymount Manhattan College in New York, NY, Ricky was invited to join Columbia City Ballet as a trainee in 2011. He was promoted to the corps de ballet in 2012 and continued dancing with the company until 2014. Mr. Davis has also had performance experiences with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, Appalachian Ballet Company, Lawrence Ballet Theatre, and Rockford Dance Company. He has danced in works by Alvin Ailey, William Starrett, Tracy Vogt, Antonio Sisk, George Balanchine, Patricia Miller, Wayland Anderson, Mary-Pat Henry, Gary Abbott, Kirven Douthit-Boyd and Paula Weber. Davis is excited to be performing with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company for their 2017 fall season, and returning to Atlanta, where he will join Roswell Dance Theatre as Snow King in The Nutcracker. This is his third season with WHCDC.
