Lonnie E. Davis --spent several years training as a company member with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Co-MO, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago-IL, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Co. II-OH. While there he danced classic works by Lester Horton, James Truitte, Leni Wylliams, Kevin "Iega" Jeff, and Rod Rogers to name a few. He has performed and choreographed Broadway & Vegas revues for Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean Productions. Lonnie spent summers months studying on scholarship at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, and the American Dance Festival. He also received extensive training at Ohio University. Lonnie is a much sought after teacher and choreographer. His works have recently been received with great acclaim in Atlanta’s Dance Canvas: “Introducing the Next Generation” choreography showcase 09’ & 10’, Project Dance NYC and ATL 09’-10’.
Lonnie has recently been appointed Co-Artistic Director of Wylliams-Henry Contemporary Dance Co. The company based in Kansas City is set to make it’s Atlanta debut this Fall at Jennie T. Anderson Civic Center. Davis has had the privilege of setting works on Wylliams-Henry, ReFuge Dance Co, Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre, Ballet Dalton, & Gainesville Ballet to name a few. Mr. Davis has been a guest teacher/choreographer at several college dance programs. Some include Brenau University, Ohio University and UMKC. He is currently on faculty teaching contemporary, jazz/musical theatre & modern dance at The Georgia Dance Conservatory, Pebblebrook Performing Arts HS and The Atlanta Girls School.
